Composeable architecture

A new term is floating the architecture discussions. It is about being „composable“. Taking a functionality from A and plug it in the assembly B builds. The new „normal“ of keeping a business, an organization, an architecture, etc. active and vital. Assembling something new is not a new approach, it is more how the already settled stuff can react on these surrounding changes. In context of terms like „compostable enterprise“, as introduced by Gartner, the term headless is often stated – besides low code, node code, glue code. At the end it is about reducing it to the core of its meaning and making it accessible to more applications.

The composeable enterprise represents an shift from large, monolithic applications to API-driven and modular components. Sounds a bit like the turn from applications to smartphoen apps, but is more like getting open for integration and reuse.
